INNOVATIVE MODULAR DESIGN The EasyPower Series is part of the Transformer range, a comprehensive series of high density, modular connectors for all on-board power applications within the rail market. The Transformer’s modularity enables customers to design their own solution by supplying the elementary components of the whole connector. It employs a unique do-it-yourself system based on the building block principle. The connector is suitable for any applications requiring the transmission of very high currents such as power distribution, intercoaches and bogies. HIGH RELIABILITY The EasyPower Series is available in 1 to 4 pole versions, supporting up to 700A per pole and a voltage rating of 3600V. The EasyPower connectors can be supplied in a straight version, that allows for the easy mounting on the roof or under the car’s floor. A straight version with a shunt is also available to facilitate mounting between two cars. The connector uses the Smiths Connectors’ High Power Contact (HPC) technology in aluminum or copper that allows for more contact points to reduce overheating and to achieve low mating force during the connection. In addition, three contact sizes only are covering the cross section cables from 25mm² to 240mm², with consequent reduction of supply chain and cabling costs. IDEAL FOR RAIL INDUSTRY The EasyPower Series range is compliant with the main railway standards: NF F 61-030, EN 50647 and dEN 60373. The connectors also conform to EN 45545 fire and smoke standards and are made of plastic materials following NF F 101/102.

HBB single pole, circular connectors combine high current handling capability with small size and exceptional performance in harsh environments. Designed for use in all types of high-power applications, the HBB series is particularly suitable for electric drives used in fighting vehicles, unmanned vehicles, avionics systems, rail transport and industrial applications. Designed for easy mating and quick release, the connectors attain standard current ratings of 300A and 500A (750A available on request) with high reliability and excellent integrity. Hyperboloid contacts produce contact resistance figures as low as 0.05mΩ which help in reducing resistive losses. This both eases the task of thermal management and allows better power handling in a smaller space with a lower overall mass. HBB are offered in metal or plastic shells, are sealed to IPx7, feature 360° EMI/RFI shielding and have a polarized design with options that ease assembly allowing simple maintenance and quick changeover .

HIGH RELIABILITY The HeavyPower Series is available in 1 to 4 pole versions, supporting up to 300A per pole and a voltage rating of 3600V. The HeavyPower connector is offered with straight termination, that allows for the easy mounting on the roof or under the car’s floor or with right angle termination to facilitate the mounting between two cars. As a variant, the HeavyPower Y Series is also proposed as a branch connector acting as a junction box. The connector uses the Smiths Connectors’ High Power Contact (HPC) technology in aluminum or in copper that allows for more contact points to reduce overheating and to achieve low mating force during the connection. In addition, one contact size fits with the cross section cables from 25mm² to 50mm², with consequent reduction of supply chain and cabling costs. High Power Connectors Size 3 HIGH POWER APPLICATIONS The Smiths Connectors M58 series is designed for high power applications in high voltage power generation, mechanical engineering, rolling mill drives, mechatronics, printing and paper making machines, conveyors and marine. They all feature outstanding protection against electromagnetic interference through a full 360° screen shielding. CRIMP TERMINATION The adoption of crimp contacts allows for a consistent high quality connection and reduces the total installation time of the connector by minimizing the number of operations. Machined contacts feature a closed barrel design ideally suited for manual hand tools and support a wide range of wire termination cross sections. Additional Features
