    Applications

We can supply sensors to work with nearly any type of instrument option.

    Design Type

A sensor’s construction has a large impact on its thermal time response, resistance to corrosive media and other key performance characteristics. By manufacturing the bare elements all the way through final assembly, Minco has the flexibility to design high performing temperature sensors, unique to each application. Temperature probes come in all shapes, sizes, and configurations. Below are a few options:
  • Silicone rubber heaters are suited for large-size, industrial and ruggedized applications. They are constructed of rugged, flexible elastomer material with excellent temperature properties. Benefits of Silicone Rubber Heaters:
    • High reliability in a wide range of applications.
    • Optional custom profiled heat density for uniform heat sink temperature
    • Factory vulcanization and high temperature capability allows higher wattage levels
  • Minco’s SmartHeat SLT (Self-Limiting Technology) heaters provide an efficient and effective alternative to traditional temperature management in Aerospace, Defense, and Medical applications. These unique devices provide consistent thermal outcomes and self-tuning in dynamic environments. Thin, flexible, and lightweight, SmartHeat SLT heaters deliver optimal performance and controller-free operation. Our SmartHeat SLT heaters utilize a patented polymer inner-lay material to pinpoint precisely when and where heat is needed to maintain uniform heatsink temperature. The resistance of the polymer increases exponentially at a prescribed temperature control point, which eliminates the need for additional regulating electronics. This results in a simplified system design and lowers manufacturing and operational costs. Advanced materials and engineering eliminate the risk of overheating, which can damage electro-optical components, handheld electronic displays and fluid warming devices. Features & Benefits
    • No risk of overheating due to delamination or environmental changes
    • Automated, elevated temperature management and control with consistent thermal outcomes
    • Patented materials ensure peak performance in a thin implicit control simplifies device design and reduces product launch cycle
    • Environment temperature range: -45°C (-49°F) to 100°C (212°F)
    • Operational set point range: 10°C (50°F) to 70°C (158°F)

  • Flat, laminated “stick” RTDs fit in slots between stator windings to monitor temperature rise and prevent overheating. The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) recognizes embedded detectors as a standard protection for motor and generator insulation. Unlike on-off devices, RTDs provide continuous sensing for earlier warning without unnecessary trip outs. Minco stator RTDs meet the specification of ANSI C50.10-1990, general requirements for synchronous motors. Six sensors are recommended for each motor, two per phase. Locating the sensors near the hottest point of the windings will provide the best performance.
